Sophie Cousins is a health journalist based between the foothills of the Annapurna mountain range in Nepal and New Delhi, India.

Before leaving her television job in Sydney and moving to South Asia, she lived in Lebanon and Iraq, where she wrote about the health consequences of war.

Her work has appeared in the New York Times, the Guardian, the Lancet, BMJ, New Scientist, and more. In her past life she spent a short stint training to be a chef but quickly discovered she loved eating food more than cooking it.
