Lena Corner is a London-based freelance journalist and editor. For almost ten years she worked on the Independent and Independent on Sunday. She covers a broad range of subjects including health, psychology, news and gender equality. Her written work has been published in the Guardian, the Times, the Observer, Grazia, Glamour and Vice UK.
She also works for charities including Save the Children and Care International, travelling to places such as Iraq, Sicily, Serbia and India to cover stories about the refugee crisis and global poverty. She has interviewed many young, often female, refugees about the situation they are in.
Lena also works on the occasional film project. Her 2004 film Exit Manhattan won best short at the Commonwealth Film Festival in 2006.
