Ed Vulliamy, for more than 30 years a writer for the Guardian and Observer, has won a string of major journalism awards for his reporting on the wars in Bosnia and Iraq. He is author of Seasons in Hell: Understanding Bosnia’s War (1994) and The War is Dead, Long Live The War – Bosnia: The Reckoning (2012). In 2013, he won the Ryszard Kapuściński Award for Literary Reportage for Amexica: War Along the Borderline (2010), about the narco-cartel drug war in Mexico.
